Mark 5:21-43

Text:  Mark 5:21-43

Intro:   The last time we looked in on Jairus, he and Jesus were making their way to his house to attend to a most tearful event…the sickness of his 12yr old, only daughter. He had approached Jesus broken and humbled, falling before Jesus confessing his helplessness and begging Jesus to come and heal his little girl.  Jesus agreed to go. As they went the crowd pressed in around them. I’m sure Jairus wanted them to move aside and get out of the way…

2)   A PAINFUL DELAY

     A)  The Interest of The Savior - (24) When Jairus shares his story with Jesus, he receives a sympathetic ear. When you bring your need to Jesus, He will go with you to do something about your need. (1 Pet. 5:7)

     B) The Intrusion Of Sickness – (Mk 5:25-34) As Jesus goes with Jairus, they are stopped by a woman with an issue of blood. This delay must have gripped the heart of Jairus, he wants the Master to hurry.

     C) The Invasion Of Sorrow – (Mk 5:35) During the delay, a servant of Jairus comes with a tragic word: “Your daughter is dead!” Can you imagine how Jairus must have felt at that moment?

3)   A POWERFUL DELIVERANCE - (Mark 5:36-43)

     A)  The Proclamation of Faith -  That is what faith says to you! Every instinct and every indicator may say, “It is hopeless!” But, faith looks to God, Who is greater than anything we can hear, know or see!

     B) The Exclusions of Faith – (37-40) Notice that Jesus put everyone who did not believe Him outside. Those who lacked faith in Him were excluded from seeing Him move and work in power. (1:6-7)(Mt.21:22)

     C)  The Exhibition Of Faith – (40-43) When Jesus entered the room where that dead girl was lying, He took her by the hand and told her to rise and she did! When life came in death had to flee!

I don’t know what you need, but I know He has more than enough for you. Why not get the peace, comfort and help you need today?
