Mark 5:21-43

Text:  Mark 5:21-43

Intro:   Every one of us has been impacted by tragedy to some degree. Whether it was illness, infirmity, death, or any of the thousands of things that can touch us humans, we have all experienced pain. (John 16:33b) I want you to remember that when trouble comes your way, Jesus is more than adequate to take care of the situation.

1.  A SAD DIALOGUE   (Mark 5:21-22)

     A) The Accomplishments of Jairus – (22) He was a man who had it all, but at this moment in time, none of it mattered! Jairus would have traded everything for the power to change his situation. Life becomes crystal clear when tragedy comes!

     B) The Attitude Of Jairus– (22)  Somewhere, Jairus had heard of Jesus… and he saw that Jesus was his only hope, his daughter is dying! He came reverently, prayerfully and passionately and “fell at His feet”.

     C) The Acknowledgment Of Jairus– (23)  He is saying to Jesus, “I cannot do this thing, but I believe you can!” What a statement of faith! We must reach the place where we know that I can’t, but He can! (Jesus always has a place for misfits and hurting).

There are some in this room and you have been trying to fight your battles in your own power. You keep losing. You need to say to Jesus… "Lord, I can't fight these battles, but you can! I can't win the victories I need in my life, but you can!"
