TEXT: Matthew 1:20-21
INTRO: A young girl named Mary did have a little lamb. That’s what is happening in these first verses in Matthew. Joseph is engaged to a young Jewish girl named Mary. They were betrothed, which means that they were legally married, but were not yet living together. During this time, Joseph learns that Mary is pregnant. He believes that Mary has been unfaithful to him and he decides to get a divorce. God sends and angel to tell Joseph that Mary is carrying a child that was miraculously fathered by the Holy Spirit of God. That this child will be a special child with a special mission.
