TEXT: Daniel 5:27
INTRO: Ronald Reagan once said, “If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” Our nation has been blessed by God. We could not have accomplished all we have without the divine hand of God intervening. We prospered as a people who reverenced God as holy and sovereign, but I fear that is changing. Not only does our nation hang in the balance, but we must also apply this truth to our individual walks with the Lord. Daniel chapter five chronicles the events of the last party in Babylon and the end of that great empire. Scripture reveals the heart that brought God’s judgement on Babylon. Belshazzar’s life calls to us today from the pits of despair beckoning our hearts to humble ourselves and reverence the Lord.
